5 Things You Must Do After Microneedling:

CLEAN

Despite of the mess, blood spots etc, created on face, be really gentle with cleaning. I know you would be really tempted to just wash it all off. But harsh cleaning can cause more damage to your already sensitive skin. For atleast 72 hours after microneedling, use tepid water to cleanse the face. Do not use towel or tissue to dry the skin. Let it air dry. Also, make sure your hands are clean when touching the treated area. Use a gentle cleanser and tepid water to cleanse the face for 72 hours post-treatment, and gently dry the treated skin. Always make sure your hands are clean when touching the treated area. Do not use cleansing brushes or devices like Clarisonic for at least 7 days after your treatment.

HEAL

After the damage caused by the needles, your body will start activating the healing factors and your skin will naturally heal itself. But to promote and boost the healing process, it is best to nourish your skin with powerful ingredients. For this purpose, we recommend using serums post-treatment. There are a number of serums you can use for treating your skin.

  • Hyaluronic acid: or increasing hydration of your skin, you can use hyaluronic acid serum.
  • Antioxidants: Antioxidants that are commonly used in skincare include, vitamin C and E.
  • Vitamin C: It is a very potent antioxidant. It can be tricky to use after microneedling. Apply this serum at least 12 hours post-treatment. It helps to increase the production of collagen and promotes the healing of damaged skin.
  • Vitamin E: It has properties that are ideal to help heal the skin by soothing and lessening irritation. It is very good to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and other signs of anti-aging.

HYDRATE

Microneedling can make your skin dry because the dead layer of skin formed on the surface of the skin. You must nourish your skin by hydrating ingredients. There are a lot of moisturizing ingredients out there. You can use products with ceramides that provide intense hydration. The brands like CeraVe and Cetaphil have ceramides in them. You can also use a serum containing ceramides. Hyaluronic acid is also one of the best hydrating agents we have. It allows your skin to hydrate and restores the skin back to perfect balance.

STIMULATE

As your skin starts to regenerate, you need collagen-stimulating products. Collagen is the skin building protein that your skin needs after microneedling. The needles on dermaroller injure your skin and your body starts producing collagen to heal the damaged skin. In that time, you can use collagen-stimulating peptides to maximize the effects of the stimulation already started by the microneedling. They can be in the form of serum and creams. Collagen also comes in a drinkable form that you can drink.

MAKEUP

Makeup should not be used for 24 to 72 hours after the procedure. After that, you can use a powder foundation or liquid mineral foundation, some light lipstick, eyeliner and you are good to go! Make sure your hands and tools are clean before using them.

PROTECT

Protecting your skin from sun rays after doing any kind of procedure to your skin is a must. Make sure you apply a generous amount of sunscreen on the treated areas. We recommend using a broad-spectrum UVA/UVB, SPF 50 chemical-free sunscreen to your skin. Sunscreen should be a part of your everyday skincare routine—not only the days following your procedure. You must be protecting your skin with sun damage and premature aging.
